The VR Game of a YouTube Channel
Out of Scale — A Kurzgesagt Adventure is the VR game of the popular YouTube knowledge channel “In a nutshell — Kurzgesagt”. It offers a unique combination of entertainment and education, exploring the invisible worlds that surround us every day.
Players embark on an adventurous journey that takes them through five different orders of magnitude. They can experience the adventure at the molecular level or from the top of a giant mountain.
The goal of the game is to eliminate the consequences of a lab test gone wrong. You will be assisted by STEVE, the lab’s AI assistant, and the Shrink-O-Gen. This invention allows you to scan and zoom in on your surroundings.
VR theater and mixed reality sandbox
In the four missions, you will have to learn the different rules of each environment: Molecules, Bacteria, Insects, Humans, and Mountains. You will face challenges such as giant ants, fungi, and tardigrades that want to take over your city.
In addition to the main game, there is also a multiplayer movie theater where you can invite friends to watch short scientific explainer videos in VR. Out of Scale — A Kurzgesagt Adventure also features a mixed reality sandbox where you can bring objects and creatures you’ve collected in the game to life in your own home.
