Asgard’s Wrath 2 is coming out this week, and the launch trailer sets the mood for the biggest VR game in years.
In development for over four years, Asgard’s Wrath 2 is a full-fledged VR role-playing game with a large, freely explorable world and the most ambitious title ever developed for Meta Quest.
The RPG’s story campaign alone should keep you busy for 60 hours, according to Meta. And if you set out to complete all the quests and challenges, you will spend well over 100 hours. This does not include the Uncharted Rifts and Cosmic Events (see below).
No MIXED review at launch
Asgard’s Wrath 2 costs $60 and is currently free with the purchase of a Meta Quest 3, but is primarily optimized for Meta Quest 2. An update with optimizations for Quest 3 will follow at a later date. The VR game will be released on December 15, 2023, and those who pre-order it will receive the 2019 PC VR original Asgard’s Wrath for free.
Meta has limited the playing time for testers, so MIXED will not publish a full review at launch. Ben describes his first impressions after eight hours of Asgard’s Wrath 2 in an article. You might also be interested in a conversation MIXED had with Studio Creative Director Mat Kraemer this summer.
