Canadian VR studio Archiact, which was founded in 2013 and has developed titles such as Freediver, Evasion, and most recently Journey to Foundation, is laying off employees across nearly all areas of game development. No reasons were given for the layoffs. Presumably, the studio’s last VR game did not have the commercial success it needed. Another venerable VR studio, First Contact Entertainment, shut down in December.
