'VR' searches soar globally by 300% following Apple's unveiling of the new Vision Pro headset.

The mixed reality world is buzzing with excitement after Apple announced its new Vision Pro headset at the Worldwide Developers Conference in California on June 5. The device, which combines virtual and augmented reality, has sparked a surge of online searches for “VR,” which increased by 300% in the past week, according to Digital-adoption.com.

The Vision Pro, which costs $3,499 and will be available in early 2024, features 4K displays, infrared cameras, LED illuminators, and a dial that lets users switch between modes. Apple claims it is the first product that lets users see, hear, and interact with digital content as if it were in their physical space.

Apple’s announcement has resulted in significant surges in searches for “Buy Apple stock,” with a 1,482% global increase in the past week. There was also a significant surge of 1,130% and 545% in searches for “mixed reality” and “augmented reality” respectively during the conference.

Apple’s news comes at a time when the online fascination with artificial intelligence is reaching unprecedented levels. According to data from Google Trends, searches for ‘AI’ have surged by 619% since 2004.

TikTok reported that interest in virtual reality has more than tripled since 2020 and the interest in AI has skyrocketed by a tenfold.

In addition, this year has proven to be a pivotal period for AI, witnessing a remarkable surge in search volume. The numbers have more than doubled, rising from 17 million searches in January to 42 million in May. The notable increase can be partly attributed to the rapid expansion and acceptance of user-friendly technologies like ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Bard.

Apple’s groundbreaking Vision Pro has ignited an unprecedented surge of interest in VR and paved the way for further innovation and exploration within the industry.

As per last month’s research, search interest in Google Bard has skyrocketed among European users, prompting them to use VPNs for accessing the platform.
