The Future Is Now

VR concert reveals the launch of Meta Quest 3 in October

AmazeVR announces a live VR concert in October where the audience will be equipped with a Meta Quest 3.

The four-member girl group, “aespa”, debuted in November 2020 and has since received three gold records in Japan and four platinum and three diamond records in South Korea. The K-pop sensation is now set to hold its first live VR concert in October. What makes it special is that AmazeVR is promoting the use of Meta Quest 3.

Quest 3: October release date rumored

Ever since the Quest 2 successor was announced shortly before this year’s Meta Gaming Showcase in June, rumors have been swirling around the release date of Quest 3. Most recently, the Canadian Amazon site listed the VR headset with a release date of 10 October 2023.

The listing disappeared a short time later. A listing with the same release date also appeared on German retailer MediaMarkt. Whether it is October 10, 2023 or another day, the launch in October 2023 should be considered certain, at the latest after AmazeVR’s concert announcement.

Amaze VR: VR concert with Quest 3 in October

Amaze is best known for its immersive concert experience Enter Thee Hottiverse, featuring rap superstar Megan Thee Stallion. With its next VR experience, the VR concert promoter indirectly confirms a Quest 3 release in October.

The announcement for aespa’s VR concert states that visitors will be able to experience the event onsite with a Meta Quest 3. The VR concert will take place on October 27, 2023 in Seoul, South Korea at the Megabox cinema chain.

Specifically, the announcement reads: “As part of AmazeVR’s ongoing efforts to innovate and set the standard for quality VR performances, the aespa VR concert theater experience will utilize the advanced Meta Quest 3 VR headset from Meta – making aespa fans who attend the theater tour among the first to try this brand new technology.”
