Upland, recognized as a leading Web3 Metaverse Superapp, has announced its expansion into Japan, emphasizing its collaboration with ON1 FORCE, an influential player in the anime Profile Picture (PFP) project domain. This strategic move was unveiled by Upland’s Co-CEO and Co-Founder, Dirk Lueth, during Asia’s premier web3 conference, WebX.

Synergy in Expansion

The crux of this collaboration lies in Upland’s effort to tap into Japan’s flourishing anime culture, with Tokyo being the inaugural Asian city to be incorporated into its platform. The city’s digital twin in the Upland metaverse will mirror its real-world layout. Through this integration, ON1 FORCE seeks to optimize Upland’s existing infrastructure, rather than investing heavily in constructing a distinct metaverse. They plan to establish a focal zone within Upland’s digital reimagining of Tokyo.

Dirk Lueth highlighted the mutual benefits of this partnership, underscoring the shared enthusiasm from both community bases. He emphasized Upland’s objective to offer other notable NFT entities a platform within their expansive metaverse.

What Awaits Users?

The forthcoming launch of Tokyo within Upland’s realm is eagerly awaited by its four million-strong user base. ON1 FORCE NFT holders will be privy to select privileges in Upland. As users ascend in the Upland hierarchy, they will gain access to exclusive ON1 FORCE assets, enhancing their in-game experience.

Henry Finn, President and CEO of ON1 Force, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Upland’s proven track record in partnerships, such as associations with FIFA and UNICEF. He highlighted the potential this collaboration offers in amplifying the reach of Japanese artists and brands globally.

Broadening Horizons

Upland’s decentralized architecture ensures players maintain comprehensive ownership of their in-game assets. This partnership paves the way for the ON1 FORCE community to carve a unique space within Upland’s metaverse. Following Tokyo’s digital incorporation, Upland plans to further their collaboration with ON1 FORCE, introducing exclusive features for NFT holders. This includes specialized wearable assets, exclusive map asset NFTs, and unique gatherings in Upland’s digital cafes, underpinned by Nowhere 3D Spaces and Ready Player Me avatars.

About Upland and ON1 FORCE

Upland operates as an open web3 metaverse platform aligned with real-world geographies. With a footprint that spans several global cities and a user-centric economy, Upland aims to provide a versatile experience underpinned by three tenets: Play, Earn, and Connect.

On the flip side, ON1 FORCE merges the realms of anime and gaming across web2 and web3 interfaces. Founded in 2021, ON1 FORCE has witnessed rapid growth, with trade volumes exceeding $140 million within two months. Their unique art collection, combined with a dedicated community, underscores their digital and tangible market presence. Their innovative forays, such as the recent integration into Fortnite Creative 2.0, exemplify their commitment to digital innovation.
