The Future Is Now

This is what games look like on Apple Vision Pro

With the launch of Vision Pro, the first games for Apple’s headset have been released. The trailers show what you can expect.

Apple Vision Pro launched in the U.S. on February 2.

Unlike other VR headsets, Vision Pro relies entirely on eye and hand tracking control. Because most VR games are designed for controllers, they cannot be easily ported to Apple’s headset. This will encourage studios to try new gameplay concepts.

Only a handful of native Vision Pro games are available at launch. More and bigger titles will be released over time, including Demeo and Rec Room.

Games are available either on the App Store or through Apple’s game subscription service, Apple Arcade.

Blackbox

Blackbox is the Vision Pro version of the award-winning iOS game of the same name.

In Blackbox, players interact with the space — and their own senses — to explore and solve challenges. One puzzle involves moving your body in a certain manner; another involves sound, silence, and a blob of molten gold floating like an alien in front of you. A second puzzle involves Morse code.

Blackbox is available on the App Store for $20.

Game Room

Game Room is a collection of classic board and card games optimized for Vision Pro. It was developed by the VR hit studio Resolution Games (Blaston, Demeo, Racket Club).

The games included are:

For multiplayer games, players can choose between connecting with real players through FaceTime using SharePlay, Game Center Friend Invites, or Game Center Quickmatch, or battle AI competition in Game Room’s selection of multiplayer card and tabletop games.

Game Room is available via Apple Arcade and also supports iPhones and iPads.

Puzzling Places

Puzzling Places is a relaxing and wholesome 3D jigsaw puzzle game where players put together photorealistic miniatures of beautiful places from around the globe.  These have been scanned in 3D using drones, cameras, and LIDARS scanners. The VR classic has been redesigned and optimized for Vision Pro’s eye and hand tracking controls.

Puzzling Places is available free of charge in the App Store and includes in-app-purchases.

Super Fruit Ninja

In the Vision Pro version of the cult game, you slash fruit with your hands, ninja style.

Super Fruit Ninja is available on Apple Arcade.

Synth Riders

The popular VR rhythm game has been redesigned for Vision Pro. The revised version features an audio-reactive, spatial environment with over 70 songs from a variety of genres.

The game environment has been reworked and you have the option to switch between a portal to a retro-futuristic world in the physical environment and a fully immersive experience.

Synth Riders is available on Apple Arcade.

Tiny-Fins

The game transforms your physical environment into an underwater world. By moving your hands, you guide a school of cute fish through rings. The goal of the game is to collect as many rings as possible and reach higher and higher waves of enemies.

Tiny-Fins is available on the App Store for $5.

What The Golf?

What The Golf, available for PC, Switch and iOS, was created for Apple Vision Pro. In addition to hitting golf balls, you can also hit cats or cars across the green.

What The Golf? is available on Apple Arcade.

Wisp

Wisp is a beautifully designed desk ornament and home to a small, AI-controlled forest spirit. Feed your new friend and engage in stimulating and entertaining conversations to help the plants grow.

Wisp is available for $20 on the App Store.
