The Future Is Now

Rival Stars Horse Racing is getting a brand new VR version on Quest, SteamVR and Vision Pro

Rival Stars Horse Racing: VR Edition will let you breed horses and compete in horse races on Meta Quest, SteamVR and Vision Pro.

New Zealand studio PikPok has announced a brand new VR version of Rival Stars Horse Racing. It describes the game as follows:

Rival Stars Horse Racing: VR Edition already has an entry in the Horizon Store, and the release window is set for fall 2024. According to the Steam announcement, the SteamVR version will be released in Q4 2024. The YouTube description of the trailer (see below) states that a Vision Pro version is also planned for this period.

Built from the ground up for VR

According to PikPok, Rival Stars Horse Racing: VR Edition is built from the ground up for VR and does not support cross-play with other titles in the series, which are available for iOS and Android, as well as on Steam as a Desktop Edition.

PikPok provides more details about the features in the Horizon Store. You will be able to interact with the horses in a realistic way and develop an emotional bond with them. This includes feeding, grooming and petting the horses without a list of tasks or time pressure.

As you breed your horses, you will discover new coats and patterns and watch your stable grow. If you like, you can watch the horses run around in the pasture, or you can mount them and ride them around the ranch.

The races are said to feel lifelike thanks to intuitive motion control. There will be a story mode and a multiplayer racing mode for this part of the game, where you can visit locations all over the world. There will also be cross-country environments where you can perform jumps or race against the clock.
