The Future Is Now

Retropolis 2 and a Mixed Reality Spin-off Coming Soon to Quest and SteamVR

Great news for adventure fans: Both Retropolis 2 and a free mixed-reality spin-off are coming out in January.

Studio Peanut Button has announced the launch date for the full release of Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye: The VR adventure game will come out on January 18th for Meta Quest and SteamVR.

The free mixed reality experience Retropolis dot.Line will release on January 31st (watch the YouTube trailer).

Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye is a sequel to The Secret of Retropolis, a VR point-and-click adventure that released in 2021. The sequel takes place one year after the events of the first game and continues the story of hard-boiled robotic detective Philip Log and robotic femme fatale Jenny Montage. The unlikely pair must face a new villain.

The first episode of Retropolis 2 was released in Early Access for Meta Quest in summer 2023. The full release of the game adds three more episodes to create a fully-fledged VR adventure that offers six hours to play through. The studio describes the game as follows:

The studio notes that all 3D assets were hand-painted by their artists, “making each environment a stunningly detailed work of art”.

Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye is now available to wishlist on Steam or purchase in the App Lab for Meta Quest (the first episode is already available, the remaining three episodes will be unlocked on January 18th).
