The Future Is Now

Playstation VR 2’s first tennis simulation has a release date

Tennis On-Court aims to be the most realistic VR tennis experience and comes with many modes and features.

Tennis On-Court is the first tennis simulation for Playstation VR 2, allowing you to perfect techniques such as lift, slice and dropshot.

The VR game offers an arcade and a realistic mode. You can move around the field using three mods: teleport, manual and automatic. There are 13 rackets with different characteristics to choose from, as well as 6 stadiums with different surfaces (clay, grass, hard). Perp Games promises “world class physics” that will make you feel the difference between clay courts and grass courts.

If you’re new to the game and having trouble, the simulation offers 5 assists to help you: service hit assist, position assist, ball trajectory correction, and more. Of course, you can also customize the appearance and clothing of your avatars.

Tennis On-Court launches this fall

You can play against your friends as well as an AI. When playing against the computer, you can choose between four difficulty levels and whether your opponent is left- or right-handed.

If you want to play against friends, you can do so in a singles or doubles online match. Alternatively, you can have opponents automatically assigned to you via matchmaking. Ambitious players can compete in the online championship.

Before the matches, you can practice with 5 different training modes. There is even a spectator mode if you want to watch your friends or competitors play live.

A VR tennis sim wouldn’t be a VR tennis sim if there weren’t a few details here and there to make the experience more immersive. For example, it is possible to play with the ball before serving and to play with a one-handed or two-handed backhand. A full stadium, including an umpire and linesman, should provide a great sense of presence.

Tennis On Court will be released on October 20, 2023, and you can already add the VR game to your wishlist in the Playstation Store.
