Sony has announced the Playstation Store’s top downloads for 2023. Which PSVR 2 games are in the top ten?
Each month, Sony publishes a ranking of the most downloaded games on PlayStation Store across multiple platforms, including PSVR 2.
The rankings reflect the sales success of VR titles, as many PSVR 2 games are only available as digital downloads and not in retail stores. The PSVR 2 rankings do not count upgrades, VR games included in a hardware bundle, or games that are not VR exclusive, such as Gran Turismo, Resident Evil 4, and No Man’s Sky.
A ranking of the top downloads for all of 2023 usually follows at the beginning of the year, and here it is:
The tactical team shooter Pavlov took first place in both North America and Europe. Beat Saber and Kayak VR: Mirage tied for second and third place. Other top VR games include Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, Saints & Sinners 2, Switchback VR, Job Simulator, and Horizon Call of the Mountain.
I was a bit surprised to see Red Matter 2 missing from the list, as it is considered one of the most impressive PSVR 2 games in terms of visuals.
Playstation VR 2 was released on February 22, 2023, and VR games released earlier in the year naturally had more time to sell units. For this reason, major titles like Arizona Sunshine 2, which was released at the end of the year, are likely missing from the list.
