New VR app Headspace XR aims to boost your mental health on Meta Quest 3

Headspace XR for Meta Quest is designed to help you improve your mental health in VR and mixed reality.

Headspace, the popular meditation and mindfulness platform, has teamed up with Meta and Nexus Studios to create a new immersive platform called Headspace XR. The app is now available for Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro and offers a range of playful activities to improve wellbeing and mental health.

Headspace mindfulness and meditation instructors Dora Kamau and Kessonga Giscombe guide you through various mindfulness experiences. You will be able to visit an immersive “playground” and practice various mindfulness techniques such as breathing exercises, body scans, and mood tracking.

In addition, Headspace XR offers a Mixed Reality experience that helps you to change habits and supports the development of new skills. You can experience Headspace XR on your own or with friends.

Headspace XR costs just under $30 and is currently available in English only.

Headspace: From smartphone to virtual reality

Headspace is a successful mindfulness and meditation subscription service available via smartphone, tablet, or browser. The XR version of Headspace was previously announced at Meta Connect 2023 alongside Lego Brick Tales VR, Out of Scalce: A Kurzgesagt Adventure, the Mixed Reality action game BAM, and Laser Dance.

With Headspace XR, the company aims to provide a digital solution to improve mental health, especially among younger generations. A study by Gallup and Meta found that a quarter of adults worldwide feel very or fairly lonely, with an even higher prevalence among younger people between the ages of 15 and 29.
