The Future Is Now

Looking Glass launches new 16-inch and 32-inch 3D displays

Looking Glass is expanding its own product portfolio with a new 16-inch and 32-inch version of the 3D displays for professional users.

Looking Glass is jumping on the “spatial” bandwagon with its new screens, no longer talking about holographic displays: the new products are called Looking Glass 16″ Spatial Display and Looking Glass 32″ Spatial Display. The former has a resolution of 4K, the latter 8K.

Unlike Looking Glass Go and Looking Glass Portrait, these devices are aimed at professional users and are designed for visualization, presentation and real-time interaction with 3D content. The displays can be positioned vertically or horizontally and are thinner than previous models of the same size.

The starting price of the 16-inch version is 4,000 US dollars (3,000 US dollars for a limited time), the price of the 32-inch version is only available on request.

Further information can be found on the official website.

The Looking Glass screens do not require a headset or glasses for their 3D effect. The software calculates between 45 and 100 different stereoscopic views, creating a sense of depth even when the head is moved and for multiple users at the same time.

The devices support holographic images and video, as well as real-time 3D applications and accessories that enable gesture control. Plug-ins for Unity, Unreal, Blender and WebXR make it easy to work with the platforms. A 3D model importer and SDK make it easy to create custom 3D content.
