Forge your own weapons in virtual reality: BlackForge comes to Meta Quest and PC-VR in June

The VR blacksmithing adventure BlackForge, a cozy fantasy game for Meta Quest and SteamVR, will be released in June.

Publisher Fast Travel Games has announced that BlackForge: A Smithing Adventure will be released on June 13, 2024. The cozy, crafting-focused game is being developed by ManaBrigade and will be available on Meta Quest 3, Quest 2 and Quest Pro as well as on PC VR headsets via SteamVR at a price of $19.99. Pre-orders are now available at the Meta Horizon Store and on Steam with a 20% discount.

BlackForge: A Smithing Adventure is a VR blacksmithing game where you run your own forge. With realistic VR interactions, you’ll shape and form metal, weld materials, chop wood, and more to create fine tools and epic weapons. The game features a full campaign where you learn new skills as you complete quests from townspeople and adventurers.

You will face increasingly difficult challenges as your creations become indispensable tools for others in the fight against a mysterious evil. You can also use a combat dummy to test the weapons you create. Your forge is also inhabited by a faithful little blacksmith spirit that you can feed and pet.

Collaboration between Fast Travel Games and ManaBrigade

Fast Travel Games is known for VR titles such as Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice, Apex Construct and Guardians Frontline. With the release of BlackForge: A Smithing Adventure, the Swedish publisher, which has already sold more than one million VR games, now adds a cozy game with a medieval setting to its portfolio.

ManaBrigade, an indie studio also based in Sweden, is fully focused on developing VR games and aims to bring the craft and skills of a blacksmith to life in a fantasy setting for the first time with BlackForge.
