Competition for Vision Pro? Sightful’s AR laptop offers portable 100 inch multi-monitor setup

The startup Sightful introduces the Spacetop G1, an augmented reality laptop that offers a massive virtual workspace in a compact, portable device.

Sightful launches the Spacetop G1, which it claims is the first commercially available augmented reality laptop. It is designed to give users a 100-inch virtual workspace that fits into a backpack.

When paired with an AR headset, the Spacetop G1 provides an expansive multi-monitor virtual setup that can be anchored in the user’s field of view. The AR headset is permanently connected to a laptop, which serves as the playback device.

According to Sightful CEO and co-founder Tamir Berliner, the Spacetop G1 marks a change in the stagnating laptop market and a decisive step for the acceptance of spatial computing. The device is aimed at people who want to work productively from any location while maintaining their privacy.

Sightful was founded by former Magic Leap executives Tamir Berliner (CEO) and Tomer Kahan (COO). The company employs over 60 people with expertise in product management, UX/UI, core software, cloud, applications, marketing, computer vision, systems, and design.

Sightful has raised 61 million US dollars in venture capital to date. Investors include Corner Ventures, Aleph Capital and others. The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, and has offices in Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Taiwan and Singapore.

For the hardware and production of the Spacetop, Sightful works with renowned partners such as Qualcomm, Wistron and Xreal.
