The Future Is Now

Arizona Sunshine 2 gets first gameplay trailer & release date

Arizona Sunshine 2 will be released in December. The first gameplay trailer shows what the VR game really looks like.

The sequel to the 2016 VR classic was announced at the Playstation Showcase this spring. At that time, however, Vertigo Games only showed a CGI video. The newly released gameplay trailer offers a first look at the visuals and gameplay.

Arizona Sunshine 2 is a full sequel with a new story and characters. The story revolves around the search for Patient Zero, the source of the zombie apocalypse. Vertigo Games promises a rollercoaster story campaign that should be accessible even for those who haven’t played the first part.

A new and special character is your dog, Buddy, who will be with you at every turn, helping you kill zombies, find important items and carry your gear. Like its predecessor, the campaign will feature a co-op mode, the details of which Vertigo Games is keeping under wraps.

Arizona Sunshine 2: Deluxe Edition is available for pre-order now

The VR game brings new long-range weapons like the flamethrower and manual reloading for the first time. Melee combat is also new, allowing you to take on zombies with machetes, crowbars and pickaxes.

Vertigo Games promises unprecedented realism as you hack away at the undead hordes thanks to a new mutilation system that allows you to use severed limbs for self-defense.

Besides the standard version for $50, there is a Deluxe Edition with cosmetic items. The latter can be pre-ordered now at a discount of 10 percent.

Arizona Sunshine 2 will be released on December 7, 2023 for Meta Quest, Playstation VR 2 and PC VR compatible headsets on Steam.
