The Future Is Now

Apple Vision Pro reportedly coming soon to markets outside the US

Targeting new markets: Apple prepares to launch Vision Pro outside the U.S. and trains hundreds of store employees.

Bloomberg’s Apple specialist Mark Gurman reports that Apple is preparing to sell the Vision Pro in markets outside the US. According to unnamed sources, the company has been holding training sessions for employees of international Apple Stores in Cupertino, California, in recent days. The goal is to teach employees how to demonstrate the device to customers.

The training sessions last up to four days and began last week. Apple has flown in hundreds of employees from Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and China, indicating that these countries will be among the first international markets for the device.

The international launch of the Vision Pro is expected to take place after the Worldwide Developers Conference in early June. Apple has not yet announced where exactly the headset will be available.

Vision Pro: Apple’s bumpy entry into the age of spatial computing

The Vision Pro is Apple’s first product in a new category in years, and was introduced as a “spatial computer” in February of this year. So far, the VR/AR headset is only officially available in the US. With a hefty price tag of at least $3,500 and a still limited range of applications, the Vision Pro is currently little more than a dev kit for developers and a gimmick for early adopters, despite its high-end hardware. I have explained why the Apple Vision Pro is not a failure in the linked article.

With the expansion outside of the USA, the Vision Pro is likely to experience a new upswing after the recent declining sales in the consumer market. In addition to numerous rumors, there is only one official statement from Apple regarding the countries in which the Vision Pro will be available outside the USA. Tim Cook announced that the device will be released in China later this year.
