The Future Is Now

An iconic game from the early days of VR may soon disappear

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality is a standout VR game from the early days of VR and may soon be disappearing from stores.

Warner Bros. Discovery is preparing to shut down Adult Swim Games. It has contacted a number of studios whose games are distributed by Adult Swim Games and informed them that these titles will soon be removed from stores.

Adult Swim Games is the publisher of Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality. The VR title was developed by Owlchemy Games (Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator, Cosmonious High). It is currently not confirmed if Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality will be affected by the delisting, but it seems likely.

Warner Bros. Discovery has given the studios permission to re-release the games under their own name, provided they remove all references to Adult Swim Games from the games, including the credits. Since this can be a lot of work and the titles would lose all ratings, some studios may decide it is not worth the effort.

If you’ve never played Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-Ality, this could be your last chance.

The VR game is available in the Playstation Store for the first Playstation VR, as well as on Steam and on Meta’s PC VR platform for PC VR headsets.
