The Future Is Now

Alien: Rogue Incursion & Behemoth get first gameplay trailers

Behemoth and Alien: Rogue Incursion are two of the most anticipated VR titles of 2024. Now we see the first gameplay footage.

As part of the State of Play, trailers featuring early gameplay footage from Alien: Rogue Incursion and Behemoth have been released.

Behemoth is the next big VR game from Skydance Interactive, the studio behind The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners. Like that game, it focuses on physics-based combat in a harsh world. You will also be fighting the titular giant monsters.

In the Playstation Blog, the studio describes the “Forsaken Lands” that you roam through in the game:

“The Forsaken Lands are your gauntlet and your hunting ground. Equipped with a grappling hook and unnatural grip strength, you’ll climb, zip, and reel to ascend or descend walls, towers, and cliffsides. Surmount barriers hindering your path, explore nooks and crannies to claim hard-to-reach items, or grasp onto unsuspecting foes and cast them into the abyss.”

Skydance’s Behemoth will be released in fall 2024 for Meta Quest, Playstation VR 2 and PC-VR.

Not much was known about the recently announced Alien: Rogue Incursion. On the Playstation Blog, developer Survios promises Xenomorphs that are unpredictable and can attack anywhere at any time, alone or in groups.

“While heart-pounding combat is the core of Alien: Rogue Incursion, grabbing your pulse rifle and blasting your way out of every situation is not always the best strategy. Constantly hunted by unpredictable and resourceful Xenomorphs, players will often find creativity and a level head to be their greatest weapons, especially when it comes to leveraging the environment to their advantage,” writes the studio.

Alien: Rogue Incursion will be released in late 2024 for Quest 3, Playstation VR 2 and PC VR.

Sony also announced a new Astro Bot game as part of the State of Play. However, Sony’s VR mascot is only coming to PS5. A big disappointment for PSVR 2 fans.

Fortunately, there are many more VR games for PSVR 2 and other VR systems to look forward to in 2024.
